Merill Strange has iigain made the trophies, including the Eva L. Smith Memorial plaques, which she is donating, for the first Rappahannock male and female runner. Mrs. Strange is one of the former winners of this valued trophy. Last year’s winners, Nina Stamer for the women and Jason Waters for the men, have both preregistered.
A special rate for families, $10 per head for those preregistering, has attracted a number of entries. Eve, Shiloh and Caleb Proper have preregistered, as have Cheryl, Meghan and Michael Fairbrother and Jenks, Jennings and Berkeley Hobson.
Former Extension agent Nancy Sechrist has preregistered along with her sons Bart and John. The oldest entry preregistered is Barbara Gentry, 80, who plans to walk the course this year.
