on Old Rag
The National Park Service had to rescue two people from Old Rag Mountain this past weekend.
On Saturday at about 1:30 p.m. near the top of the Ridge Trail, Donald C. Hess, 55, of Falls Church injured his ankle when he slipped on the rocks. To rescue him a Park Service helicopter hovered over the
mountain and Mr. Hess was lifted into the helicopter from a “chair” sling attached to a cable.
