ecdote many years ago. It posed a problem that I have never quite resolved.
A large truck proceeding on the highway was being followed closely by a state policeman. At regular intervals the truck would stop, the driver get out and circle the truck hittin the sides with a bat. After observing this happen several times the trooper approached the driver.
He asked, “Why do you stop and beat on the sides of your truck?” The driver replied, “I have a load of ten tons of canaries. The weight limit on this road is five ton. I beat the sides of the truck to keep half of the canaries flying!”
My problem dear public is that I am not sure that this action would lessen the weight. It is a closed system. But maybe the birds might be in free fall and are weightless?
I hope someone here in the county well grounded in this type of problem will kindly reply to the Neu's and if we cannot get a consensus perhaps we should have a meeting at the library soon. After all, there is nothing much exciting going on since the elections.
Please ignore the fact that a truck large enough to hold ten ton of canaries in flight would be about the size of a football field.
