his breath, he looked desparate. He could not reject these outstretched arms. At Eddy’s age, he knew that a rejected kiss would hurt this little boy. But what could he do? I saw him looking for a dry spot when he knew there was none. Then I saw’ his resolve. He stepped forward on kissed Tiny on the cheek. As if he had, unexpected, run into some cobwebs in the dark, his arms and hands waved wildly around his face. He looked about, disoriented.
Finally he found the car and left for home.
