It seemed the further toward the cemetery we got the thicker the mess was. I know I knew where the cemetery was as I had been there time and again. This time by having to take such a circuitous route I actually walked upon the place before I realized I was in it. Calling wildly to my commrades who were scattered at this point, trying to find their own paths of less effort, we finally joined. “Where is it?”, asked Dorothy. Right there I pointed. How over grown it was. We cleared all we could, sat down among those resting there and filled our bags of nurishment carried along for that purpose.
Sally found her great-grandfather, Joseph C. Bowen’s, stone and was greatly excited. She also found that Joseph’s father and mother, William and Anna Beahm Bowen are also buried here. They are Sally’s great-great-grandparents. Dorothy McWaters also descends from the same people but is still another generation (lown the tree. These are not my lineal ancestors, but rather collaterial.
