After a vote by the Town Council, it was decided that no alcoholic beverages will be allowed in the Town Hall.
Mayor Dean Morehouse said, “When we acquired the building, the Town Council accepted certain deed restrictions. The main one was that the Town Hall was to be used for public purposes. We do not want it used strictly for town meetings. We want it to be a nuyor asset to the community. Most of the problems voiced recently have had to do with parking and septic.”
Two committees drafted proposals for rental of the Town Hall. The first one consisted of Brad Fisher, Susan Parrish and Ray Gooch. The second group was Susan Parrish, Janice Moffett, Newbill Miller, Diane Bruce and Steve Critzer.
Council member Ray Gooch said, “At the first meeting about this topic there were only six people here. I am heartened to see this many people out tonight.”
