Classes will include Musical Theatre, which emphasizes choral music, dance, basic acting, set design and construction, costuming ami publicity; “The Mountains,” a hands-on approach that allows students to learn about the unique area in which we live; “Investigating Your Future,” which encourages students to use imagination and creative abilities to become an active part of their future; and Art, where students will create oil paintings and 3-D works. Students must be identified as being gifted in the area of the class.
Although neither grades nor credit will be given, the curriculum and reports on individual student participation will be sent to each student’s school. Costs for the program , are paid for from state and local funds. Students may be transported from RCES to Culpeper, or they may be transported by parents. Students provide their own lunches.
Applications, available from Maggi Piper at the Rappahannock School Board Office (987-8773), must be returned by May 6. Notification of acceptance will be made by June 6.
