On Friday, a community gathering begins at 4 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Park on U.S. 211 near Washington.
Bellydancing will be provided by Anthea, a former county resident. At 5:30, Peggy Schadler and the Friends of Gaia Theatre Troupe will perform two plays, using masks and drumming: “Dark Nights for a Soul” and “An Attempt to Restore the Good Name of Snake”. The Friends of Gaia dancers are Julie Coon, Kim Doyle, Wendi Sirat, Pine Phillips, Jean Morgan, Howard Coon, Ellie Coon, Steve Schadler, Janet Kerig and other friends.
Following the Friends of Gaia performances will be a community potluck supper.
At 6:30, an inter-faith prayer circle for the healing of the earth, with Lakota pipe ceremony, Wiccan dance, tree blessing, Agnihotra, and more, will take place. Participants are welcome to bring
