He worked for the Bureau of Public Roads on the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Alaskan-Canadian Highway.
He retired from the U.S. Department of Defense as Chief Engineer for the Transportation Engineering Agency in 1974.
Mr. Perry is survived by his wife, Kittie H. Perry of Hallieford, Va.; three daughters, Toby P. Curtis of Bayview, ID, Dandice S. Perry of Jacksonville, Fla., and Elizabeth P. Ripley of Gloucester Points; four sons, Clyde H. Perry, Jr. of Woodbridge, Elston N. Perry of Newport News, Leland K. Perry of Cambridge, Maine and Gregory B. Perry of Bradenton, Fla.; one brother, Craig B. Perry of Aberdeen, N.C.; five grandchildren, four greatgrandchildren and many devoted friends.
A graveside service will be held at the Austin Cemetery in Kitty Hawk, N.C. at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 20.
Twiford’s Colony Chapel in Manteo, N.C. is in charge of the arrangements.

Gid Jenkins, 75, of Sperryville died on Monday, April 18 at Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
He was bora in Rappahannock County on Jan. 22,1919.
He was retired from Culpeper Farmers Co-op and was a member of Slate Mills Baptist Church.
His parents were the late John H. and Janie Jenkins.
