“Forever Ivor” is directed by John MacDonald, producing artistic director of The Washington Stage Guild. MacDonald, in addition to directing works by Ivor Novello’s com temporary, Noel Coward, directed both of Nick Olcott’s Helen Hayes nominated plays. Larry Vote, Interact’s resident musical director is directing the music, and Helen Hayes nominee, Linda Gamer Miller is choreographing the show. The cast for “Forever Ivor” includes Steve Cramer, a Helen Hayes nominee who captivates Washington audiences with his magnificent voice; Catherine Flye, a Helen Hayes nominee beloved for her tour de force performances in “Lettice and Lovage,” “ Shirley Valentine” and “Joyce”; Alex Hassan, a master of syncopated piano music if the 1920’s and 30’s; Rosa Lamoreaux, hailed by The Washington Post as the finest operatic talent in Washington; and Pedro Porro, a Helen Hayes winner for his outstanding performance in Sondeim’s “Sweeny Todd.”
Interact Theatre Company, founded by Artistic Director Catherine Flye, is a collaboration of professional artists dedicated to integrating the performance arts in special high quality entertainments. Interact has become recognized for its fresh and innovative interpretations of Gilbert and Sullivan, as well as being a showcase for classic British comedies including the company’s 1993 hit productions.
