Nancy Gallegos placed third in both the 800m and 400m runs. In the long jump, Tomeka Carey finished fourth with a distance of 14’4‘. Jessica Jacobs threw the shotput 278*.

The next track and field meet is scheduled for 4 p.m. Wednesday against B rentsville and Central Woodstock, at Central. They are due to participate in a meet at Orange County against Orange and Madison counties on Monday.

The RCHS baseball team continued its losing streak, but Coach Bob Howard has hope that his team’s luck will soon change.

Stonewall Jackson defeated the Panthers 12-0 on April 12. Coach Howard said, “It was probably our best game of the year. The score was 3-0 going into the sixth inning, and then they scored nine runs.”

Luke Zindel was the starting pitcher. He pitched two shutout innings. A1 Kellert pitched next, and had three really good innings, according to Coach Howard. He gave up two unearned runs and one earned. Coach Howard said, “Their pitcher, Ritenour, pitched a no-hitter through six innings.”

Page County defeated RCHS last Thursday, with a score of 22-6. “This was a game I wanted to win. We were both winless teams, and we could have won it,” said Coach Howard.

Jason Brown was the starting pitcher, through nearly three innings. Coach Howard said, “He did a nice job, and this was our best game offensively. We got six runs.” J.C. Welch, Paul Brown and Jon Diggs all had two hits. J.W. Welch also had two RBI’s.

Brentsville’s team is undefeated, and continued their success by beating RCHS 23-3. “They are the best team in the league,” said Coach Howard.

Chris Kerr pitched the beginning of the game, and did a good job the first three innings, according to Coach Howard. Chris had never pitched before, and three innings was the longest a starting pitcher had pitched this season, i
