There are Halloween activities to keep kids of all ages busy this weekend.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 29
6 p.m. to 8 p.m.: Haunted hayrides, costume contest and bonfires will be held at Mountain Green Farm off Route 622 outside Washington (watch for signs).
The Child Care and Learning Center puts on these festivities which benefit Piedmont United Way. Don’t be late, because the costume contest begins at 6 p.m. The first haunted hayride leaves at 6:45 and is geared toward the younger children. Following hayrides will be for the bigger and braver kids.
Bonfires will be provided around the pond for those wishing to roast hot dogs (bring your own or buy them there) or marshmallows.
Tickets can be purchased in advance from CCLC for $4 for adults and $2 for children under 12 by calling 675-3237. At the gate, tickets will be $6 for adults and $3 for children.
Last year this event was rained out. This year’s rain date is Oct. 30.
