said they sleep under a mosquito net; temperature is very hot and humid. It was 99 degrees when he called home last Saturday, Oct. 15. He said wearing full combat gear, including flak vests, when they first arrived really made it hot.
Captain Stith also said they ahve had rodent and insect infestation in some areas. She said the biggest challenge is to keep up morale. Mike was just married in May to a lovely girl but she cannot speak and is deaf ' so it was real hard for him to leave her in California.
