Mr. Gottlieb said he did not find the argument that there are enough bed and breakfast businesses in the county compelling. “A planned economy leaves me cold,” he said, but he added he did see the concern about public safety. “An unsophisticated visitor looking for a B and B, I’d be afraid they would drive off the road.”
Ms. Pierce said the road “makes a believer out of you.” She said the only way she would approve it would be if the Parents found another property to build on.

The planners recommended the Board of Supervisors approve an application for a boundary adjustment for John Pullen. The change requires a special exception because a lot of more than 25 acres would be reduced to less than 25 acres. The density of housing will not be affected.
Mr. Pullen said he was already grazing the property and maintaining the right-of-way that serves his property along the piece in question. He said that the property had been split up in a family subdivision and that his brother only uses the piece that would be added to his property for hunting.
