Jim Harris also arranged for the acquistion, at a significantly reduced cost (which he subsidized), of a new GMC conversion van that was raffled by the Boosters at Liberty High School.
In addition, he is a major sponsor of the Newspapers in Education (NIE) project of the Fauquier TimesDemocrat, providing newspapers for use by the students at the two local high schools.
