For the new Blazer and Jimmy, engineers were challenged to come up with a vehicle that was “tuned to ride and drive like a premium automobile while retaining all of its desirable truck qualities.”
Much work went into the design of the suspension, which employs stabilizers, jounce bumpers, and variable ration power steering.
The Oldsmobile Bravada, a close cousin of the Blazer/Jimmy family,will be offered as a 1994 model through December; there will be no 1995 model. The 1996 Bravada, similar to the ’95 Blazer/Jimmy, will be sold in the fall of’95.
The full-size Blazer will be known henceforth as the Tahoe, and the Jimmy will has been re-named the ' Yukon. These big SUVs will come only in the familiar three-door model initially; a five door will come out later this year.
