Committee Chairman Roberta Anderson said several other members of the board sat in on the interviews with the personnel committee, and she expects the new appointment will be unanimously approved. She said the new librarian will be able to begin work by mid November.
Current librarian Nicki Lynch resigned to accept a position as director of the Rockingham Regional Library in Harrisonburg. She will work with the new librarian for a short period of time.
Once the new librarian is on board, one of her first responsibilities will be to select a part-time assistant. Assistant Librarian Elizabeth Jones, who also served as the children’s librarian, resigned earlier this fall to work on her masters degree.
