The Amissville Baptist Church is planning a special service on Nov. 6 during the morning worship service to honor their veterans. This service begins at 11 a.m.
In the church vestibule is a wooden plaque letered by Mrs. Mary Bywaters Clement with the names of those who entered World War II while attending Amissville Baptist Church. They are Walter William Estes, Alexander Crossfield Walker, Jr., Robert Brewington Settle, Jr., James Moses Berry, James William Wayland, Williams Bryne Walter, Charlie Robert Priest, Clarence Russell Corbin, James Robert Bowen, Burrell Mohun Luttrell, Lyle Thomas Hitt and Dorothy Lee Zinn Hackley living; Charlie James Latham, Charles Homer Rowzie, Francis Wendell Latham, James Amos Walter, Wilbur Glenn Jenkins, 1 Lester Braxton James, Rudolph Acrey Jenkins, Charles Franklin Clement and William Kemper Doyle, deceased.
All veterans of World War II, Korean War, Vietna, Desert Storm and any other conflict will be honored. Family members present in the audience will be asked to stand as each veteran is honored.
