On abortion, Chuck Kobb has stated he has never supported abortions on a “fetus” that could survive outside the womb on its own. Yet the Freedom on Choice Act of which he is a co-sponsor would allow abortions the day before natural birth and would prevent states from imposing parental notification requirements or 24-hour waiting periods.
He has voted for each and every cabinet appointee of President Clinton, support sending our troops under U.N. leadership, voted for each tax increase since 1989 and, until the last couple months, was still pushing the 50 cent a gallon gas tax he wanted in 1988.
In fact after six years in the Senate, the one bill Chuck Robb boasts the most of is the crime bill which is unconstitutional with the gun ban included, federalizes the local police, and requires the locality to raise half the amount they are receiving in federal grants, thereby, precluding the locality from receiving these funds at all. But, what really gets me the maddest is that, when Chuck Robb voted for this bill, he did not even know what was in it as there were only four copies available; and it had notes penciled in the margin and stick-on notes affixed to the pages.
On Chuck Robb the “Education Governor,” it seems to me that the blame for the falling SAT scores of the last several years should rightfully be laid on Chuck Robb and his Democratic successors, Gerald Baliles and Doug Wilder, for their “social engineering,” such as family life education.
The Chuck Robb gang now tries to bring drugs into the campaign— openly suggesting Oliver North was a drug trafficer. How sad that he has to resort to lies because he cannot stand on issues.
