went, so went Virginia!
Local voters turned out in record number in Tuesday’s General Election to re-elect President Lyndon B. Johnson to a full term as president with a 226 m^ority over his Republican candidate, Barry Goldwater of Arizona. This marked the first time since the Truman campaign of 1948 that the county has returned to the Democratic presidental fold.
