Gangs i The school administration has taken the right tact in trying to nip gang activity in the bud at the high school, i The decision to inform parents through a letter is also a good one. In all too many areas gang violence in schools and neighborhoods has gotten out of hand. Fortunately no such thing has happened in Rappahannock schools. ( Fortunately most of the young men who apparently thought it would be “cool” to identify themselves as gang members using the names and perhaps the colors of the violent gangs that Jiave spread to most of the nation’s large cities have reconsidered. Fights over girls and territories and intimidation of students who are not gang members have no place in our schools, j , There is a place for adolescent high jinks. Violence and the threat of violence has no place in our county.
