Patricia Holmes of Warrenton will be the new county librarian.
Mrs. Holmes will begin work November 14. She has given two weeks notice at her current job as a research librarian with Prince William County. She is also responsible for the vertical files at the Bull Run Regional Library.
She earned her MLS degree from Catholic University in December 1998 while working at the Fauquier County Library, where she worked as a reference librarian and created displays for the children’s floor. ’ Mrs. Holmes has also been an elementary school teacher and veterinary technician. In the 1989-90 school year she taught English to Koreans at Camp Humphries, South Korea. Her undergraduate work was in elementary education at Southern Illinois university where she received a BS degree in 1985. • She has experience working with a variety of computer systems through her work as a research librarian.
Mrs. Holmes Said she had long been interested in library science but did not pursue that career goal until her husband got a job in Warrenton. “I was looting for a career I could really eiyoy,” she said. “I love to read; it’s a life-long hobby. I have felt an extraordinary sense of peace in A' *ies, and I don’t know any other place where I have felt that.”
