The 4th of July festivities in the Town of Washington will have a new highlight this year — an old-fashioned •parade with a marching band, decorated cars and floats — and everyone is welcomed to participate.
The parade also will include a children’s bicycle parade, as in the past.
Judges will determine the “most patriotically decorated” car and bicycle and the best float, said Ellen Manson, head of the 4th of July committee for the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and Community (RAAC). “The more red, white, and blue, the better,” said Manson.
