The Washington Post ran a story earlier this month breathlessly claiming that the election battle between Senator John Warner and Jim Miller has gotten really down and dirty.
Maybe so, but very few other people are noticing it besides those eagleeyed Post reporters.
Yes, the two have occasionally called each other names, but those who have noticed so far have mainly been political junkies. Mr. and Mrs. Average Man or Woman on the Street simply ain’t paying any attention so far to the Wamer-Miller business if what 1 am hearing — or more importantly not hearing — is any indicator.
Warner has now started running television spots to emphasize that he is a dyed-in-the-wool conservative contrary to claims of the opposition and such machinations are designed to let people know he needs their help now,
