Tennis Lessons and Groups

Over the years in Rappahannock there has been a growing interest in tennis and to help coordinate instruction opportunities as well as possibly create playing groups and an occasional tournament or round-robin elvent, Hunt Harris asks for community members to call him at 675-1879 or 987-9061, or meet him at the county park “Memorial Day Monday” the 27th at 10 a.m. Hunt will be offering instruction beginning in June.

Closing Benefit Sale Set

Spring Mountain Waldorf School closing sale/benefit it will be held Saturday, June 8, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., rain or shine'at the School, Mt. Salem Avenue. Highlights for sale include upright piano, small chest freezer; copy machine; almost hew electrolux vacuum cleaner; pentatonic flutes; recorders; fancy paintbrushes; children’s wooden toys and play furniture (desks, tables, chairs) rugs. Volleyball Camp Planned

There will be a summer volleyball camp this year at Rappahannock County High School. There will be two sessions of camp; one session for varsity level (June 24-26) and one session for junior varsity level (June 27-29). Both sessions will run from 1 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The price of the camp is $45, which includes a camp t-shirt. You may pick up a registration form in the office at RCHS. If you have any questions feel free to call 987-8575.

F.V.F.D. Carnival Planned

The Flint Hill Volunteer Fire and Rescue Carnival is being held July 24, 25, 26 and 27 at the Flint Hill Fire Grounds. The parade will be on Friday, July 26. This year’s grand prize will be a Chevy S-10. Tickets are available from any member or several local merchants.

Soccer Camp Registration

The Rappahannock Soccer League is sponsoring a local soccer camp, July 9-12. The mini-camp, for ages 6 and 7, will be held 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and costs $100. The older camp, agfs 7-14, will run 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and costs $125. The camp will be held on the RCES playing fields. The instructors are from the Soccer Academy in Fairfax, an organization well-known for its high-caliber of soccer training. The camp is open to , children of all skill levels.
