- In August of 1996 Virginia and ; Bob Scott will celebrate their 58th | wadding anniversary.
* Mrs. Scott was not exactly the i “girl next door.” Virginia Vass was ; bom in Greenville, S. C. Mr. Scott j was bom in San Diego, Calif. It took < the magnetic attraction of show busi. ness to get them together, when they met and fell in love, in New York : City. } Mrs. Scott was one of 10 children I and grew up loving music and leam' ing to harmonize with her brothers ; and sisters. When her family later « moved to the Big Apple, five of the • Vasses sang on radio as NBC artists i with their own family program, “The ! Vass Family.” They performed regu' larly on the network, singing and actl ing with many top celebrities from • Radio City, Chicago and Hollywood ■ for over twelve years. > After her brother entered the ■ Army during World War II and the sister got married, the family group broke up and Mrs. Scott sang alone with her autoharp. She gave hundreds of concerts for Woman’s Clubs and schools in Washington and Los Angelos.
Fortunately for Mr. Scott, he had ^ started acting in high school and col, lege and then came to New York City ; to study acting in a dramatic school where his aunt, an experienced
