Family Outing Scheduled
The Annual family outing to the Bolen Family Cemetery scheduled for Saturday, May 25 has been changed to Saturday, June 1 due to lack of transportation. Please pass the word. For those who will be going on the trip call a friend or neighbor v^io has a pick-up truck or a four wheel drive vehicle. If they can’t go perhaps they’ll lend you their truck for the day. The group will be meeting at 10:30 at the parking area at the end of Route 614, Gid Brown Hollow.
Sperryville Plans Carnival
Members of the Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor their annual carnival this year, May 29, 30, 31 and June 1. Special rates will apply for the rides on Wednesday evening, a parade will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday and grand prizes will be awarded on Saturday evening.
Prizes will include the grand prize of $500, first, second and third prizes of $100 each will be awarded to a lucky winner. All members of the community and county residents are urged to support the fire department in their endeavors. There will be food, games and fun for the entire family.

Rookie Baseball Camp
Donn Hackney has put together an exciting week for young athletes (ages 5-9) who want to improve their skill levels and learn the fundamentals of baseball. Camp is scheduled for June 24-28, 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Registration deadline is June 9. Cost is $100 which includes lunch, Tshirt, and individualized instruction. Call 675-1573 or pickup registration forms at the elementary school or local merchants.
Bawkey Family Reunion Set
A Bawkey Family Reunion for the relatives of the late William Claude and Fannie Cobb Bawkey will be held beginning at 12 noon on Sunday, May 26 at The Rappahannock Park on Route 211 in Washington. All family members and friends are invited to attend and are asked to bring a covered dish.
