• Oct. 9, at 7:30 p.m. the town’s Architectural Review Board meets at the town hall.

• Oct. 10, at 8 p.m. Paul Engle will present a slide show and talk on the creation of Shenandoah National Park at the library.

• Oct. 11, at 9-9:30 a.m. the Second Saturday Hiking Series group will hike to the headwaters of the Rappahannock River. Meet at Mountainside Market.

• Oct. 12, 2 p.m. to dark, the Water Festival benefit at Glassworks Gallery/Oldway Art Center in Sperryville.

• Oct. 14, at 7:30 p.m. the Rappahannock School Board meets at the high school library.

• Oct. 15, at 7:30 p.m. the County Planning Commission meets at the courthouse.
