I have known Genia Haught for 11 years and I know she would never do anything like what was printed. She is a good mother and a hard working person!
Then your newspaper printed on Oct. 1 a statement from Paul McQuillan stating that Haught told the boys that she would take care of things. My question to you is — I thought all people were innocent until proven guilty.
You have printed a statement from a known juvenile offender, a person who has assaulted his own mother, sold drugs and destroyed property before. Yet, you feel that it was necessary to print something that he said in court against someone else without getting their side of the story. That is wrong.
Haught has yet to have her day in court nor has the other juvenile. In my opinion McQuillan was making a statement to try to get himself out of some serious trouble and put the blame on someone else.
