the District Court office in Rappahannock County, Eugenia Lynne Haught was arrested on Sept. 17 for “disposal of evidence knowing the same was the fruit of a grand larceny. ” The warrant has an additional sheet of information attached which says statements obtained from three witnesses verify that she disposed of the evidence knowing the same was the fruit of a grand larceny. Statements from Rappahannock Sheriff Gary Settle to the Rappahannock News also verified she did not inform the sheriff’s office of the crime. She did allow a search of her residence at 321 South Poe’s Road where items directly linked to the crime scene were found and taken as evidence by the sheriff’s office. She was arrested as an accessory after the fact, a class I misdemeanor (in connection with a felony case), and released on $2,500 bond on Sept. 17. This all occurred before Paul McQuillan testified to anything. The other juvenile involved has not been charged in the crime, as yet. However, Haught clearly has been.
