Rappahannock-Rapidan Early Intervention Interagency Coordinating Council will hold its quarterly meeting on Oct. 21 at the Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board, 15361 Bradford Road, Culpeper. Halloween celebration set

The Northern Virginia 4-H Education Center in Front Royal invites you to a Halloween celebration of fun, costumes, treats, and spooky excitement on Friday, Oct. 31, at the 4-H Center from 6 to 10 p.m. Children 7-12 years and their parents will enjoy trick-or-treating in our haunted stables, participating in carnival games, and touring the facility on our haunted hayride. Prizes will be given for the best and most original costumes and food will be available for purchase throughout the entire evening. Cost is only $4 per person for this safe and fun-filled alternative on Halloween night. For information contact the 4-H Center at 635-7171.

Drive-through clinic set

Warren Memorial Hospital will offer drive-through flu vaccine clinics in October to help make it easier for commuters and other workers to protect themselves for this year’s flu season. An early-morning flu shot clinic will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 21, from 5 to 8 a.m. Evening clinics are scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 16, and Monday, Oct. 27, from 5 to 8 p.m. The cost of the vaccine is $10.

All flu vaccine clinics will take place under the canopy at the hospital’s south entrance, which faces Ninth Street. Vehicles must enter the south parking lot via Ninth Street (not Shenandoah Avenue) and will be directed around the parking lot to the canopy entrance area. Those wishing to receive flu shots are asked to wear short-sleeved shirts.

Ragged Mountain activities

Oct. 11, hike to Headwater of the Rappahannock River with Ragged Mountain Resource Center, meet at Mountainside Market at 9:00 a.m., return by mid-afternoon.

Oct. 12, “From the Blue Ridge to the Bay — Everything Connects with Water” benefit concert for Water Education programs in Rappahannock at Oldway Art Center in Sperryville from 2 p.m. until dark.

On Oct. 16, Full moon hike of Old Rag Mountain and on Oct. 18 Rappahannock Water Monitoring Network meeting at the Rappahannock Extension Office from 10 a.m. until 12 noon.

Oct. 24, slide show/discussion on Pfiesteria piscicida microbe with Richard Lacouture at the Rappahannock Library at 7 p.m. For information call 987-3366.
