Healing Arts activities
Weekly life enrichment series will continue Oct. 9 with Learn Simple Herbal Remedies to help prevent winter colds and flue by Kathleen Maier, PA, AGH from 7 to 9 p.m. On Oct. 16, Enjoying Your Stepfamily will be the topic will Bertha Scholten, M.Ed., LPC, NCC.
A workshop, The Sacredness of Touch will be held Saturday, Oct. 18 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. by Sharyn Nicholson and Karen Loving.
Sharyn Nicholson and experienced practitioners will offer short, gentle therapeutic sessions for kids, the first Tuesday of every month from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m.

Open house set
The Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will have open house from 1 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 12 to celebrate Fire Prevention week. For more information call Sheila Scott at 937-4357.
NSDAR members to meet
The Culpeper Minute Men Chapter, NSDAR, will meet on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 1:30 p.m. at the Madison United Methodist Church in Madison. The guest for the afternoon will be “Tissy” Walker who will speak about the VonTrapp family.
Beekeepers to meet
The Northern Piedmont Beekeepers Association will hold its October meeting at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 16 at the Culpeper Cooperative Extension Service building at the corner of Davis Street and South West Street, Culpeper. Mother's Coop, play group to meet

House tour planned
The annual Rappahannock House Tour sponsored by Trinity Episcopal Church will be held Oct. 18 and 19 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and from 1 p.m. to 5p.m. on Sunday. The following dates and hours have been scheduled for flu clinics at the Rappahannock County Health Department: 1-3 p.m. on Oct. 15; 8:30-11 a.m. on Oct. 20; 4:30-6:30 p.m. on Oct. 23 and 8:30-11 a.m. on Oct. 28.
