The forty-first annual House Tour and Dried Flower Sale, presented by the Episcopal Churchwomen of Bromfield Parish, will be held on Oct. 18 and Oct. 19. The homes selected for this year’s tour offer the visitor an array of both setting and style.
Indian Run Farm
Lifelong lovers of horses and steeple chasing, Mr. and Mrs. David Semmes came to Rappahannock County to participate in the sport.
Over time their attachment to the county grew, particularly when David Semmes became Master of the Old Dominion Hounds. Then, they acquired good land and built a cabin.
Their love of horses continues as Indian Run Farm is home to 15 retired or injured horses who are lovingly cared for by the Semmes with the help of a worker who lives on the farm.
The original cabin had no water or electricity and once they added those necessities they started the additions.
