Years of onsite testing and evaluation have established that, after processing, the water is up to 10 times cleaner than Virginia Health Department swimming standards.

While Johnson specifically did not advocate swimming in the scenic pond or storage reservoir, he did say that many communities successfully use “dry hydrants” installed for fire fighting because “the water is much cleaner and safer than typically found in a farm pond.”
