The 4-H Livestock Club is the oldest established club in Rappahannock County and always represents the county highly on the county, district and state levels. The 4-Her’s in this club are very dedicated to their projects.
Volunteer leaders are Randall Updike, Toni Updike, Jim Massie and Brooke Miller. These leaders bring many years of 4-H experience and involvement to the 4-H livestock program.
The Amissville 4-H Club has been around for years meeting in the evenings in Amissville under the volunteer leadership of Jennifer Gray. Gray is very active in the Rappahannock County 4H program, from leading her own community club to being an arts and crafts instructor at 4-H Junior Overnight Camp.
The 4-H Water Monitoring Project meets every third Saturday, usually at the Extension office, under the leadership of Hunt Harris. Ages of the 4-Her’s are between nine and 19 years. Harris has pulled together many other concerned citizens and groups in Rappahannock County, along with the 4-H program, to monitor the county’s streams.
