Mr. Herr was bom Sept. 1, 1943 to Lloyd W. Sr. and Myrtle Herr in Lancaster, Pa.
He was a graduate of McCasky High and of Franklin and Marshall College where he majored in Accounting and Business.
He was an Executive Accountant for Mobil Oil for 24 years, the last nine of which he and his wife, Hazel, were stationed in Indonesia. He was an active member of the expatriate community in the P.T. Arun and Mobil housing communities and served as logistics coordinator for visiting ministers of the nondenominational church there. He was also a member of the bible study group.
His guidance to the International School of Lhok Seumawe was invaluable and he served on the board of directors for most of his time there. His responsibilities involved handling all financial and contractual issues associated with the school.
Survives include his daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Carl Drewett of Wimberly Texas; son Lloyd W. Herr III of Lancaster, Pa.; daughter Robin Herr of New Orleans, La., formerly a resident of Rappahannock; granddaughters Carla Thrower and Jackie Thrower Drewett, both of San Marcos, Texas; sistersin-law, Mary Jo Betz of Gering, Nev. and Corrie Ruyle of Crete, Nev.; brother-in-law Jerry Hand of Casper, Wyo.;
