the board voted to match, dollar for dollar, up to $5,000 in donated funds to the Rappahannock Athletic Association for the purpose of replacing the equipment lost in the recent fire at Stuart Field.

• The board looked at options for a nuisance dog barking ordinance. Many surrounding counties already have noise ordinances. An informational packet including those ordinances was put together by County Attorney Peter Luke. The board decided to leave the matter to right of private remedy for now and look into ways to decrease the noise at the animal shelter, v

• Dr. David Gangel, superintendent of schools, asked the board to approve an additional apprppriation request for the 1997-98 school budget, now that state funds have come in. The board approved the appropriation increase of $296,361.79. They also approved the resolution for sale of TRIGON stock requested by the school board. a • The board approved the ^ request by Belle Meade Bed & * Breakfast to* convert to the ■ country inn category and they approved the application for Belle Meade School. This will allow Belle Meade to expand its day camp operation in the summer to 45 children per session and allow for classes and workshops at a new facility to be constructed on the property.
