wmiam Ltodson was arrested for DUI and refusal of a breath test. When the deputy searched him he was found to have what appeared to be marijuana on his person and was charged with possession.
He was released on bond the following day and will appear in Rappahannock District Court on March 3.
Settle said the cases represent excellent attention to detail by the deputies in that they made routine traffic stops but followed through on the investigation and found the alleged narcotics.
He said the deputies have been trained in the follow through procedures and without them the narcotics might not have been discovered.
The sheriff’s office is also investigating a larceny of a firearm from the residence of Jarvis Fletcher of Sperryville. Fletcher reported the loss of a 9 mm handgun on Jan. 27.
The incident is under investigation.
