The current timber harvest on Route 618, southwest of Laurel Mills, has generated a thoughtful discussion on forest management activities and how they impact the land. Several very important forest management issues have been raised. Whenever difficult forestry issues are raised, there becomes an opportunity to address concerns and educate. The purpose of this article is to do just that.
