that the Virginia Cooperative Extension program has advised the county they must participate in the cost share program to fill the vacant 4-H position with a full time employee or fund the program on its own. The county is still looking into the matter.
• The board discussed a request from the Town Council to install a light on Piedmont Ave. and decided to refer the request back to the town.
• The board approved the appointment of Holly Lanigan to the Recreational Facilities Authority. One other space on the authority is still available and McCarthy said he will try to have a recommendation for that position next month.
• A letter of apology by Dr. John Tole, chairman of the school board, was received by the board concerning remarks made by Tole in a formal address to the supervisors last month. Several board members observed that if the letter is to be included in the agenda they should have a copy of last month's letter, which they were told they would have but have not vet received. A copy will be requested.
