Background: He attended Scrabble Elementary School (within one half mile of where he now lives) and resides on the sam& property which has been in his family since 1893. He now lives there in a house he designed and built and raises Angus cattle and fruits and vegetables.
Warner served as a combat soldier in the Korean War and earned a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. He began a career in government, after college, as an accounting clerk, served as a public housing management assistant, then worked for the White House Office of Management and Budget and retired as a senior program and budget analyst in 1984.
Community Service: Warner has always been very actively involved in numerous community and civic activities. He is a former civil rights leader. He has been and still is an active member in the service of the Fifteenth Street Presbyterian Church in Washington, D.C.
Since returning to Rappahannock he has been a dedicated supporter of the Castleton Volunteer Fire Department, the Rappahannock Historical Society, the Friends of the Rappahannock Library and currently serves on the Rappahannock Library
