The elementary school has added only nine uses for rooms by local decision in the last 20 years out of the 32 room uses or courses which have been added. All others were mandated at the state or federal level. Courses added locally were instrumental music (band), computer lab, music and art (from cart to classroom); additional room use was added for a school clinic, computer room and a room for the remedial reading lab (Chapter 1), in school suspension room and a room for the information systems coordinator. Many RCES rooms are undersized and inadequate for some teaching purposes according to the information provided.
