Naramore said the children have had a hard time understanding the incident and many felt it on a personal level. “Kids have donated their allowances to the rebuilding fund,” he said. “We’ve had donations anywhere from $5,T)00 from the county to $1.75, a kid’s allowance.”
David Paul McQuillan V, one of the juveniles responsible for the incident of arson at the field, has made a formal apology before the RAA Board and written a letter of apology to the organization. He will be helping to refurbish the equipment from the Manassas Park Little League as part of the community service portion of his sentence, Naramore said.
The organization now plans on about two months building time to get the concession building ready by opening day which should be somewhere around mid-April. Students from Emerald Hills Elementary School in Culpeper will also be allowed to join as that is part of the RAA’s territory. “I guess everyone is looking forward to getting started,” Naramore said.
