time. In a discussion of problems facing teachers today, for example, Mattke has pointed out that we have to “educate for a time we don’t know yet.” This forces us to be “processoriented” rather than “content-oriented” in our approach and to “educate to life-long learning.” And with this in mind, he has quoted a poem by Hans Bloch: “To love the unknown/Is the only chance to survive.” Although his background is in the Waldorf School movement, this talk will be for general interest and we hope that anyone concerned with the subject — parents are especially welcome — will attend.
