Democratic meeting set

The Rappahannock Democratic Committee will host a meeting on Thursday, Feb. 5 at 7 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Library. Guest speaker for the evening will be Cornell Brooks, who is seeking candidacy for Congress. All are invited.

Swing dance scheduled

A family swing dance party will be held from 8 to 11 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 13 at the Marshall Community Center. The charge is $5 per person. Children are welcome, soft soled shoes are required, no heels please. For information call 675-3444 or 364-1800.

Lunch, learn session set

A lunch and learn session on ways to make healthier food choices will be held at the Rappahannock County Library on Tuesday, Feb. 10 from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. Call the Extension Office at 675-3619 or 675-3776 to reserve your spot. Bring your lunch, a beverage and dessert will be provided.

RAACron-tour to see River dance

The Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community will sponsor a trip to Wolf Trap to see the spectacular Irish song and dance show, “Riverdance”, at 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 5. The bus will leave the Trinity Church parking lot at 6 p.m. The charge will be 30 ($20 for lawn tickets and $10 for bus). Reservations must be made by Feb. 5. Mail checks to RAAC, RO. Saturday, Feb. 14, Second Saturday Hvke Series to Rappahannock River Watershed Tributaries in the Shenandoah National Park. Destination, Jordan River Trail to “The Peak”. Meet at Mountainside Market on US 211 west of Sperryville. Return mid afternoon.

Breakfast planned

A Valentine’s Day after breakfast will be held on Sunday, Feb. 15 at Castleton Community Volunteer Fire Department from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. Featured items include eggs, pancakes, sausage, gravy, bacon, ham and the works. Prices are $6.50 for adults and $3.50 for children. For more information call 937-3076.

Services Board to meet

The Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 10 at 1 p.m. at the Administrative Office on Bradford Road in Culpeper.
