Castleton resident Jim Gannon told the committee he is interested in historic villages of the 1900s and said the gateway project on U.S. 211 could develop either positively or negatively. He questioned the committee’s goals and funding commitments from the park service. “Is the end purpose to seek and implement new walkways, roads and other physical improvements?” he asked.

Estes said the committee “through the community’s voice” will be a concentrated voice for the board of supervisors.
