On April 25, at 5 p.m. the . committee administering the ■Mary Beth Memorial Fund Avill host a fundraiser and dinner at Ginger Hill, the home of Doug and Margaret Baumgardner.
Mary Beth Williams was tragically killed in an automobile accident on Route 729 on May 14, 1997. Randall S. .Updike, the chairman of the Mary Beth Williams Memorial Fund, notes that she was a ■ “vibrant, personable teenager with a longstanding interest .... in agriculture."
With Williams’ legacy in - mind, a memorial fund has been established for the purpose of funding scholarships - for higher education, camp attendance and other activities for the youth of . Rappahannock County.
Scholarship applicants • must be county residents, a senior that has been accepted at a two or four year college, (or student presently enrolled in college). Those majoring in agriculture or active 4-H participants will be given priority -consideration. The scholarship will be awarded only one time to an eligible applicant. Applications are available at the high school and the Extension office.
