Drevas, a youthful 50, grew up in Alexandria and first visited the county in the early 1960s. She graduated from the University of Connecticut with a degree in sculpture and moved to Rappahannock in 1971 where she became well known as a potter and sculptor. Since her husband, Carl Aplin, retired from the State Department in 1997, they have resided in Rappahannock.
“Gleanings from Southeast Asia,” runs from April 3 to 26 at the Middle Street Gallery. The opening reception is on April 5 from 2 to 6 p.m.
