School Board Vacancy
The position of Piedmont District representative on the Rappahannock County School Board is vacant due to resignation. The Rappahannock County School Board is now accepting applications from interested candidates. Candidates must be qualified voters from within the Piedmont District. Candidates are encouraged to submit an application to the School Board Office prior to April 14. A special called School Board meeting has been scheduled to review applications and appoint an interim Piedmont District School Board Member on April 28, 1998, at 7:30 p.m. in the RCES library. The term of the interim position will extend until the seating of an elected Piedmont District member following a special election to be held on November 3, 1998. The person so elected will serve until December 31, 1999, after which day the person elected at the November 1999 election shall begin to serve a four-year term.
