On Sunday, April 5, Hearthstone Whole Family Learning Center will host an Open House from 1 to 4 p.m.
Founded in May 1996, Hearthstone, located on Route 617 in Castleton, is a homeschool cooperative whose purpose is to provide an education, in a socially diverse environment, that addresses the whole of the human-being, heart, head, and hands.
To this end, the school draws from various educational sources, but especially from the ^Waldorf method, whose curriculum is based on a profound sensitivity to multimensional aspects of the developing child. Subjects are introduced and taught in a manner that corresponds to the uniquely human way a child develops and grows.
